About
Lemmen’s work has often already been collaborative including a residency project in Madeira with Bridget Collins, Margot Holtman, Kate Kornberg and Karoline Swiezynski and the Postcard Club with visual anthropologist Jip van Steenis and image researcher Elki Boerdam . In 2017 she collaborated with artist Aimée Zito for the project Houtman Houdt Staat about the previous predominantly working class neighbourhood Spaarndammerbuurt in Amsterdam. Houtman Houdt Staat was a reaction to a set of interviews held with inhabitants of the area. With the interviewees having a nostalgic view toward the socialist history and history of solidarity in the neighbourhood the project spoke about concerns around gentrification and community.
