EXHIBITION
Mind Wandering: Art, Object and Collage
— Laura McMillan
18th – 20th August 2017
We had Laura at Playground this August, with an expose of art, object and collage to help your mind wander away from normality. It was an invitation to explore an alternate reality, drink too much coffee and re-live the delirious experience of local anaesthetic compelling one to mount their wisdom tooth in resin. There was the chance to have a cold beer by the lovely people of Climpsons and Sons while seeing the work of 4 years of mind wandering in London.

About
Laura McMillan grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, and is now residing in London as an artist. Her practice explores and exposes the absurdities surrounding tradition and nostalgia. Drawing from obsolete textbooks to obscure garden magazines, Laura cuts, splices and recontextualises new worlds out of the past and present. By reliving these past events and analysing how society once lived, played and how we interacted with our surroundings, she produces alternate possibilities of the world and all that could have been.
